Professional Development Programmes for English Teachers 2012 - 2013

In order to share with all the Catholic Diocesan Secondary School about how to prepare for the MOI Focus Inspection, the ELEC had invited two speakers and the Principal (Ms J Wong) from St Joan of Arc to share with 26 Catholic schools about how to prepare for the MOI Focus Inspection. The speakers were Mr S Wong (the English Panel Chairperson from Yu Chun Keung Memorial College No.2) and Mr W Wai (the English Panel Chairperson from NWCSS). The venue of the sharing was in Lai King Catholic Secondary School, from 2:30 am to 4:30 pm on 11th January 2013 (Friday). |

This tailor-made program was prepared by TWGHs Lee Ching Dea Memorial College and Education Bureau on 29th April 2013 (Monday). The programme aimed at upgrading teachers' knowledge and skills in the teaching of English at secondary level for the diversity of learners. It focused on areas of English language knowledge and skills relevant to the current needs of teachers in the local school sector with particular emphasis on the implementation of significant changes in the English language curriculum. All the participating S1 English teachers from NWCSS had to attend pre-lesson meeting, lesson observation and post-lesson meeting starting from 9:30 am to 12:00pm. The English activity for Lesson observation was Teenage Life-Watch your diet!
