From Kowloon City to the World
To support and develop the use of English and the awareness of different cultures in daily life, nineteen S4A students took part in the opening ceremony of the Programme “New Asia, New World: Cultural Exchange Student Forum 2023” which was jointly organized by the School of Modern Languages of The University of Hong Kong and New Asia Middle School on 18th March, 2023. Students from thirteen Secondary Schools in Hong Kong enrolled in the programme, which gives students a chance to develop intercultural awareness and communicative aptitude as they interact with people with languages and cultures from around the world. The programme is a valuable opportunity for our students to meet people of different nationalities. In the captioned event, Ng Wah participants got the chance to meet and talk with exchange students from Japan, the USA, the UK, Canada, Malaysia and India.

Ten secondary schools participated in the Student Forum of this programme
The School of Modern Languages and Cultures from HKU aims to provide an appropriate environment in which to foster research, teaching and learning in cross cultural studies of languages. Students enrolled in the programmes have a chance to develop intercultural awareness and communicative aptitude as they become acquainted with some of the world��s languages and cultures. The programme let our students gain full understanding of foreign cultures and also provided them the opportunity to develop their interest and awareness about cultures in the world. The programme certainly served as a stepping stone for students to explore more and widen their horizons by sharing with each other.
