Learning English Through Sports and Science

In the afternoon on 15th October, thirty S5 students participated wholeheartedly in the English activity ��Asia-based Rugby World Cup Fan Zone�� in order to celebrate the first ever Asia-based Rugby World Cup, the HKRU, in partnership with Societe Generale, one of only two globally. The venue is Hong Kong Observation Wheel & AIA Vitality Park of Central. The programme offered a unique rugby experience for all participants. Special thanks for the support by Mr W Wai and Mr P Bason in escorting the S5 boys to join the programme.
Thirty-two S4A students joined the programme "Tackling English through Rugby" starting from the afternoon of 2nd May 2019. During the lessons, all the participants learnt to play rugby in English in our School Hall. All the participants were filled with anticipation for this event and wanted to learn more about this interesting sport.
Twenty-eight S4B students joined the EDB programme "Tackling English through Rugby" starting from the afternoon of 8th January 2018 (four Thursdays). Sixty S4 and S5 boys from NWCSS joined the programme "Tackling English with Rugby Fun Day" by HK Rugby Union in the morning on 8th July 2017. All the participants from different schools learnt to play rugby in English in King��s Park, Kowloon. All the participants were filled with anticipation for this event and wanted to learn more about this interesting sport. Special thanks for the support of the programme by Mr W Wai, Ms J lessiter, Ms A Chow, Ms A Leung and Ms K Wong.
Forty S5B and S5C boys joined the EDB programme "Tackling English through Rugby" in the afternoon on both 5th and 12th January 2017 (two Thursdays). During the lessons, all the participants learnt to play rugby in English in our school hall. All the participants were filled with anticipation for this event and wanted to learn more about this interesting sport.
With the support of the English Department of NWCSS, we invited a service provider to demonstrate a half-day English programme featuring hands-on games and booths for our students to taste ��the learning of Science in English�� in our SAR in the morning on 22nd May, 2017. The aims of this programme were to inspire Ng Wah boys to develop their creativity and their English lexical power about Science subjects in English.
As inspired by our NET, Ms J Lessiter, an Ice Hockey Demo in English was held for the students from S5B and S5C in the morning on 8th May (Monday) from 10:20 am to 12:00 noon in our SAR and playground by the Hong Kong Academy of Ice Hockey (HKAIH). The demo was conducted in English and this was a fresh new experience for Ng Wah boys to understand the techniques of playing this sport.
